WW1 Centenary Exhibition Display Boards
Today the 4th of August 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the day Britain entered World War 1. Many people across Britain will be commemorating and coming together as a community to help remember events that happened a century ago.
Between 2014 and 2018, many will be reflecting on the War and how it changed people’s lives then and now. Hundreds of events are being held across the UK some of which are being funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. This funding is to help groups, communities and organisations mark the centenary.
The events being held all over the UK will teach and honour World War One and are being held for anyone to get involved in. There are walks, performances, church services, workshops, exhibitions and many more.
One of the main ways communities are coming together to help remember the war, is by holding exhibitions. Many displays are being erected to show information, photographs, art, personal stories etc.
Thank you to Swadlincote & District Royal British Legion for sharing this great photograph of our Display Boards being used at a recent exhibition at a local school’s Community Day to mark the start of the WW1 Centenary.
