Salford gives a warm welcome to the Olympic Torch

The people of Salford including most of the staff from Panel Warehouse braved the elements on Sunday to welcome the Olympic torch. Despite the terrible weather (and the very early start) the crowds gave the torch bearers a rousing reception and cheered along as the flame was carried through the Salford Quays area past Media City and up past Manchester United and on to Leeds.

A lucky few were fortunate enough to get up close to the torch including the daughter of Panel Warehouse Operations Director Lyn Boardman.

Lyn’s daughter watched the relay with other Girl Guides and was thrilled to be able to witness this fabulous event adding that it something she “will definitely remember when she is older”.
