The Many Uses of Office Screens and Room Dividers

Although office screens and room dividers are great for dividing up office areas, they can also be put to good use in several other useful ways as well.

Create displays
When covered in a suitable material, screens and dividers can be used as display or notice boards. Having displays in school lobbies, office receptions or workplace staff rooms can be a very effective way of relaying information to everyone who studies, visits or works there.

Segregate exams
When schools, universities or training providers deliver written exams in one venue only (i.e. a gymnasium or hall), it is common for different groups of students to be tested at the same time. Room dividers can help to segregate the different groups so that any disruption caused by staggered start and finish times is minimal.

Provide medical privacy
Informal medical examinations that may involve brief procedures such as the taking of blood or the administering of inoculations are now common in many places outside of clinics and hospitals. The use of screens and dividers can provide patients with a degree of privacy that can help them to feel more at ease.

Screen-off refreshment areas
Refreshments are always needed at some point during a long formal meeting, discussion or conference. Having the refreshments located on a separate table behind room dividers helps to provide a physical separation between ‘work’ and ‘rest’, and so enable those in attendance to enjoy the distinction (at least for a short while).
