Setting Up The Perfect Office
Setting up a new office should be an easy task, but when you start planning it you soon realise that it’s not so straightforward. Apart from all the desks, chairs and IT equipment you will need, you will also have to think about the layout of the office itself. The chances are it will be open plan, so you will have to consider the best ways to give your staff a degree of privacy when the office is up and running.
You may think that this is not really important in the scheme of things, but when it comes to keeping your staff happy and productive giving them some privacy really is essential. Just think about it for a moment.
It’s human nature to want to have your own space, and this is one of the down sides of the open plan office as everyone is effectively sitting on top of each other. One of the best ways to alleviate this problem is to use office screens or mobile walls, which can be set up in various positions around the room.
You don’t have to go overboard when doing this, as in a normal sized office you will only have to use two or three screen room dividers, which will make a huge difference to how your staff feel about their workspace.
Once you have resolved this issue, it’s time to start looking at the other items you will need. These may include flip chart easels for presentations, and other pieces of equipment like pin boards and dump bins.
