The Usefulness Of Display Boards At Home
Creative people such as interior or fashion designers, artists and painters – even some writers – like to have what they call a ‘mood board’. They are usually display boards of any size with one side made of cork to enable paper and other items to be pinned to it.
What can be found on mood boards? Anything from swatches of fabric to photos and many other things, such as leaves, feathers or flowers – anything at all, really! The only restriction is that everything on a mood board should tie-in with a particular theme, such as the room that you want to decorate or the book you are writing or even the wedding dress that you want to buy.
Having a mood board at home can help everyone with projects they are working on, parents and children alike. With regards to children especially, they can also help to cultivate a conceptual approach to projects and help develop their creative thinking.
Whiteboards are a similar type of display boards that can help at home, though the benefits are more practical than artistic. Whiteboards in the kitchen can serve as a place to write reminders for shopping lists, messages and chores. A really organised family could list every family member and their corresponding chores for the week on whiteboards – though once children grow older something more permanent might be needed to avoid any ‘changes’!
Display boards can be useful in many areas of domestic life. It’s up to you to think of ways to simplify or enrich your life and how display boards can assist you with that process.
