Focus on your spending

Setting a marketing budget for your exhibition is important to keep you focused on what you are spending but before you submit your final figures to the managing director make sure you’ve thought of everything.  Thinking about your exhibition budget and ensuring you include everything can be something of a challenge particularly if you are starting from scratch.  If you have carried out the exhibition or a similar one in the past, look back at the previous budget and invoices to get an idea for your forecast.

However bear in mind that year on year prices changes and requirement differ so past budgets are only a guide.  There are some key areas though that all exhibitions and tradeshows will require to be considered.

Firstly a high percentage of the budget is eaten up by stand space.  This often gets booked for the next year at the event so make sure you have included any invoices that have already been received and paid.  Try to negotiate a good deal if you attend a show year-on-year.  Most exhibition organisers will reward loyalty.  The next big spend is the show services such as advertising in the show magazine or sponsoring a seminar.  This is closely followed by the display stands whether you are purchasing stands outright or are hiring a company to custom build and design it for this event.  At Panel Warehouse we offer a stunning range of display stands which can be used again at each event.
